Black Forest Cake

  • 4 Eggs
  • 1.25 cup milk
  • 0.666667 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 2.5 cup sugar
  • 3 cup flour
  • 1 cup Cocoa Powder
  • 2 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 bag frozen cherries
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 us liquid quart Heavy Cream
  • 0.25 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract



1. Preheat the oven to 350º F.

2. Mix together the wet ingredients in a large bowl.

3. Mix together all the dry ingredients. Incorporate dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Pour cake batter into the Copper Chef and put into the oven.

4. Bake about 1 hour or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Let cool 20 minutes before removing from the Copper Chef. Put on a baking rackto cool.

5. Make the filling in the cleaned Copper Chef: add all the filling ingredients to the pan. Cover and bring to a boil until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and cool in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

6. For whipped cream topping: add the heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract to an electric mixer bowl. Whip until stiff.

7. Assemble the cake: cut the cake in half so you have a top and a bottom.

8. Pour the cherry mixture on top of the bottom layer of cake. Cover with the remaining layer of cake.

9. Frost the cake, then chill before serving.
